Did you know that canola is known as Canada’s oil and is a Canadian innovation? Join Tara with Alberta Canola Producers in this interactive session to learn more about the significance of canola and canola production in Alberta. We will explore some of the common myths about canola and how it affects people’s food choices. Additionally, we will explore how to infuse this great Alberta commodity into your curriculum and everyday meal planning and touch on sustainability, environmental stewardship, the evolution and innovation of canola.  Get your taste buds ready to try some samples showcasing Alberta canola!

The session is going to be targeted to the CTS FOD1070: Farm To Table credit, and parts of FOD2090: Creative Cold Cuts and FOD3120: Food Evolution/Innovation. Some of the material will be applicable for Grade 7 Science: Unit A-Interactions and Ecosystems, Unit B: Plants for Food and Fiber
